Our story

My name is Kristen Sims and I am a grieving mother. I lost my beautiful daughter, Ellie, on April 29, 2024 when she was struck and killed walking in a crosswalk on her way home from the FSU library. She was a mere 20 years old. She was in the prime of her life. An honors student at Florida State University. Incredibly smart and beautiful inside and out. She was the total package and was destined to do great things. Her vibrant life was abruptly cut short and my world was torn apart. I would never wish this pain on anyone. I knew I had to have an outlet for my grief or I would go insane. I pour a lot of love into Ellie's blankets. A lot of myself. I strive for perfection because I know that's what Ellie would want.
